Swearing As Motorists' Don Thrasher missed his chance so his things for Guided By Voices, but is seems this Dayton, Ohio, resident learned some things from GBV about the powers of economical, minute-long songs. On Tuesday's Pretzel Night, Thrasher and singer/guitarist Dave Doughman spit out 10 pure psychedelic pop nuggets, ranging from 30 seconds so just over two minutes in length. Each one uses Doughman's ringing guitar, organ and melodic, double-tracked voice to form drunken, hazy bits of sound. Going from sleepy, post-2 am. solo musings so short rockers worthy of their own side in a flash, this 13-minute 7" offers plenty of bang for your buck.
