Two-man wonderband Swearing at Motorists confirms, once again, that when it comes to stirring up a slow-yet-captivating indie-folk rock furor, less is more. The Dayton, Ohio, duo exudes an emotional drive, using churning guitars and changing tempos with dramatic flair. And with singer/guitarist Dave Doughman's strained yet melancholic vocals adding the additional heart-wrenching twist to lovelorn songs of loss, it's hard not to get caught up in the adversity.
