"I am thinking of the desert, and the smile on your face"

And so the Motorists start 'Cuando Nos Vermos', on the limited edition 8 song EP prepared especially for their fall 2000 tour. Slightly experimental, however, S@M have always been about light studio trickery in shaping their songs of love and loss and devotion as an afterthought.

Lullaby Ascending is the instrumental bridge b/w the first and the rest...and if you liked the fantastic Number Seven Uptown LP, then owning this will simply be an addition to that LP.

They get Euro funky on the 1/2 minute 'Send Weed', and 'Uneasy Dreams' piss take (almost sounds like a Revolver outtake had the Beatles had a drum machine), but for the most part, this is something you'll definitely need for your collection. Other surprises inside is the potential radio smash 'The Cavalry Cross'. Cavalry Cross "is a richard thompson cover...and that S@M have this amazing ability to take a song, reinterpret it, capture the original intensity, and turn out something that has the Motorists own perfect seal on it. The true sign of some exceptional talent."

Hell, most of S@M's songs are potential radio smashes, but this one w/ it's use of mandolin and descending chorus really make it an essential. Oh it's an essential for fans and collectors, but it's and essential for those who love a great song simply for the fact that it's a great song.

Will someone please kindly tell Jakob Dylan or Counting Crows to step out of the way? Not that Swearing At Motorists sound anything like these bands , but they have 100 times the heart that the Wallflowers or Counting Crows purport to have and are recognized for. "You don't believe a word I say", to quote Dave Doughman, but you will when this acsends and filters to the top as the great stuff always does, and it will still be as relevent and timeless in 100 years as it was 1000 years ago. A real beauty.
