along the incline plane review

review taken from the doorman's top 19 of what i've bought and was released this year!

Once in my life I smoked a joint, this was together with Dave Doughman in Groningen, The Netherlands. He was drunk and high and talked about his broken relationship. Soothingly, I said to him that a musician writes the best songs when he's sad and depressed. He agreed with me.

This is a nice EP, "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" is not the original of Kylie Minogue where one could imagine that she would replace all the "I called you but you were not there, so I got drunk and dyed my hair" pieces with la la la's, but it's a great song instead. The last song reminds me of the story Dave told me in Groningen that he had left Vampire On Titus (GbV) on the plane. He must have picked up Richard D. James (aka Aphex Twin) his lost mp3 player and put this ambient piece on record. It's cool anyhow.
