last week's installment of reckless operation started at 10 pm with the oranges band's "white ride" and ended with a 5:30 am sing-a-long to stevie wonder's "signed, sealed, delivered, i'm yours"...
then everyone who survived went to the park and drank sekt until noon...because of how wild things have been getting, this week new rules are in effect. you may choose to ignore only ONE per evening:
- NO CAMERAS
- NO SINGING ALONG
- NO MAKING OUT IN THE BAR (go outside or to the ladies toilet please)
- AFTER 3 AM YOU MUST DRINK YOUR BEER IN UNDER 20 MINUTES

not swearing at motorists news, but this is much better: in what played out as a modern day david and goliath, little secretly canadian defeated giant bank one. the global corporate financial empire fell to a 15 - 4 defeat (the game was called in the 5th inning due to the "10 run rule") thus securing secretly canadian their place as champions of the babe ruth division of the bloomington junior league baseball association. good work guys!

swearing at mtv: swearing at motorists music will be used on the mtv show "made." no word yet on what songs or what episode yet but the show airs wednesdays at 10p, so keep an eye out.

UK TOUR CANCELLED-- unfortunately the july uk dates have been canceled due to circumstances beyond the control of the band. but the 'Motorists will take the afternoon off from recording this saturday june 26, for a show at the northern liberties music festival at liberty lands park in philadelphia. the free show will be Swearing At Motorists' first show in philly since playing the khyber in 2002 (with my morning jacket). festivities runs from 3-9pm with the 'Motorists scheduled to play at 6pm.
and while we're on the topic of live shows, riddle us this: for years fans have asked Swearing At Motorists to record a live album, where should they do it?

MOTORISTS' DAYTON SHOW MOVED TO MARCH 5!!! Swearing At Motorists canal street tavern appearance, originally scheduled for friday february 27th, has been re-scheduled for the following friday, march 5. after waiting 19 months for the Motorists' return, it looks like dayton will have to wait another week for the rock n roll family reunion. 'Motorists frontman dave doughman will be flying to belgium to perform 4 solo shows, supporting rudy trouve and lou barlow. another artist's last-minute cancellation led to doughman's invitation to play the 4 shows in belgium, february 26-29. check out the shows section for all the details, and call canal street tavern at 937.461.9343 for dayton ticket info

calling all fans!!! swearing at motorists will be celebrating 10 years of releasing records next year and would like your help. any posters, photos, audio/video recordings (of shows, in-stores, radio appearances), or even your own thoughts or stories about the band would be much appreciated. a re-issue of all out-of-print records as well as a compilation of b-sides, compilation tracks, and live versions is expected to come in the form of a box set (vinyl and cd). so if you have anything that can be used, let us know.
