"Did you ever see a lot of people jumping, yelling and playing at the same time ? That's what Dave Dougham, the main part of SAM (even though, statistically he's just a half) can afford, and plus if you encourage it to do...
I was waiting for this show for about a month. Even though I am a great GBV and Tobin Sprout fan for some years now I never heard SAM...what a shame, but now it's ok, I became a fan !
Even though the audience wasn't too numerous (about 80-100 people) SAM really encouraged the people to go back to see them each time they would play.
So let the show begin...
After having called his mom (that's what Dave said...maybe it was true...no one knows !!), the fury started...1 and 1/2 hour of powerful
"Dayton - Ohio Style" pop-rock music. Well crafted songs, so many hooks, a guitar tuned in C, a real great drummer named Travis, great voice - with a nice duet with the girl - some funny lyrics, a real SHOW played by showmen !!! I really liked to jump like Dave during the show, I guess that's a part of what they wanted the people to feel ! Even when they were not playing they were captivating your attention while speaking or singing a capella (I recognize a song by the Cars : "just what I needed"!).
And the show ended while Dave threw his red Telecaster on the ground and kicking the drum kit of Travis. They both finished lying on the floor, but they were not dead...heck...I saw them dancing after the show !
ŕ la Dave :
"If SAM would come to play again in Paris, would you come to see us ?" Yes we do, don't miss one of the most entertaining show you could see...and they're only 2...(well, 3 with the girl).
