october 23, 2002 - munich, germany - raum 102
man, why do I always feel like shit after a s@m concert? Anyway, we had a really good time when they played in Munich's raum 102 last night. The beer was cheap in this new venue ( situated in an old army area that now inhabits countless studios etc.) and the band was in top form. Best time I've seen them out of 3.
I really can't describe a s@m concert, because each time I'm surprised myself about how amazing Dave is. He plays like hell, his singing's great, his voice is so clear, his rock performance is beyond compare and he always got another great drummer with him ( this time it's Travis, who closely pays attention to everything Dave does and so makes the band sound very tight ).
Dave did a lot of jumps, stomping and spilt several Pilsner Urquell over the carpet and floor. He also was very talkative and it seemed he really impressed a lot of the audience who had been exposed to s@m for the first time.
The played a pretty long set, "flying pizza" was my favorite this time. I've listened to that song on record certainly more than 50 times, so I thought I might be pretty indifferent about it by now, but the live version didn't fail to kick in. They also did some covers and a-capella stuff that were fun. Come back soon!
