The primary effect of drugs on people is to make them talk more. Unless you're Scout Niblett, in which case the effect is to make you dance around in circles, rub up against a brick wall in a way that makes me wish I was that brick wall, and say, "Oh My God" repeatedly.
I've seen S@M about 7 times, but some of Dave's guitar solos on Monday in Austin still nearly ripped my head off. I'd never seen Jason or Scout before. They were also really on, and won me over right away. I got a little "giddy" that night... went to Dallas on Wednesday with a certain amount of resolve to keep myself somewhat under control. I walk in the door and Scout is on stage with Travis on drums. He doesn't really know any of her songs. They are amazing for 60 seconds at a time and then Travis invariably does something that cracks Scout up or blows her concentration... Dave proceeds to give 17 minute introductions to each song.
